* Fire has gutted Moria, the largest refugee camp on the Greek island of Lesbos, after breaking out around 2am
* Greek minister said blaze was started by migrants who refused to go into isolation after testing positive
* Migration Minister Notis Mitarachi did not confirm if the fire was a deliberate act of arson
* A state of emergency has been declared across the entire island amid fears the disease could now spread
* Hundreds of migrants fled the camp towards nearby villages, but were blocked by police vehicles and locals

A Greek minister has confirmed that a fire which destroyed the country's largest migrant camp was started by migrants amid protests by asylum seekers who had tested positive for coronavirus and were refusing to go into isolation.

The Moria camp, home to 12,000 refugees on the island of Lesbos, was completely destroyed by a blaze which began in the early hours of Wednesday.

Greek Migration Minister Notis Mitarachi has since said the fire was started by asylum-seekers, but did not confirm if it was a deliberate act of arson.
