Daily Mail: States from Massachusetts to Missouri relax more COVID restrictions: Vaccinations near 77 million and daily cases stall at 65K - but health officials warn relaxing rules could lead to a FOURTH surge

 * The US saw 58,812 new COVID-19 infections on Monday, bringing the 7-day rolling average to 64,795 a day
 * Another 1,566 Americans died of COVID-19 yesterday, a decrease of just 8% from the prior week. Deaths declined by more than 20% between February 15 and February 22, by comparison
 * But vaccinations are accelerating, with 1.8 million shots being given a day in the US, where nearly 77 million total doses have been administered
 * Dr Rochelle Walensky, CDC director warned Monday she was 'really worried' that states would reopen amid vaccinations and promising case declines, and turn the case plateau into a fourth wave
 * States are indeed reopening, with NYC allowing minimal indoor dining, Massachusetts removed capacity caps, and Kansas City, Missouri's bars can now be open during regular business hours

CDC director Dr Rochelle Walensky warned yesterday that she is 'really worried' about states reopening as cases plateau and holes in immunity offer an opportunity for dangerous new variants to derail American progress against the pandemic.

But that is not stopping states.
