Whistler, in British Columbia, has nearly 200 of 877 confirmed cases in the province but officials have only a murky idea of how widely variant has spread 

For ski resorts, spring normally marks a final chance for visitors to carve sun-drenched runs before the season ends. 

But at Canada’s most famous ski resort, the gondolas have stopped, and the slopes are eerily quiet.

The Whistler Blackcomb ski resort was shut down by provincial authorities at the end of March after they realised that P1, the highly infectious coronavirus variant traced back to Brazil, was spreading rapidly throughout the community.

WNU Editor: Canada has very strict Covid-19 controls at the border. You can only come in with a negative test, and after arriving you are put in a hotel where another test will be taken to make sure that you are negative. If it is negative, you must then spend the renaming 14 days in quarantine at your home. It does not take a genius to figure out that someone did not follow the rules. 

On another note. My girlfriend lives in Kingston, Ontario. Her neighbors are doctors. They told her last night that they are surprised how quickly these variants have overwhelmed Ontario's health system, and you definitely do not want to get sick with anyone of these variants.
